DAZZLING speedy winger MARY Siamukande scored the only important goal of the match the past weekend for the 2024/25 Zambian Premier League (ZPL) Women’s National Division One Southern Zone log leaders Ame Zam Tamanga Queens who defeated sixth-placed New Star Queens 1-nil in a very tough week 8 encounter played at Hospice Ground in Lusaka.
Siamukande who has been in fine form in the last 3 games found the back of the net in the 37th minute to take her total tally of goals to 3 with more than 4 assists to her name in as many games she has featured in this season.
Mary Siamukande, a product of fellow National Division One side Progress Sport Club – PSC (PSC) joined Ame Zam at the start of the current season from Eden University Women’s Super League side Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women’s Football Club.
Ame Zam is currently on top of the log standing with 20 points from 8 games played and it is among the 3 teams (Ame Zam, Chipata Girls and Pataaki) that are still unbeaten thus far and they are closely followed by Pataaki on second position with 18 points, two points above third-placed National Assembly who have a game in hand (against New Star Queens).
The top 2 teams from this Southern Zone at the end of the season will earn promotion to the Eden University Women’s Super League, which is the top tier of Zambian Women’s Football.
